Urban terrain (1)

70s-scene

Made some urban city terrain for 7tv/Black Opps. I wanted to have it useable for late 1960’s onward so have kept thing fairly generic. Also aiming for a decayed feel.

Firstly I wanted to make some little piles of rubbish, boxes and black bags. So0 I made a simple template for boxes and some green stuff black plastic bags, added some ballast and painted.

The other thing I wanted to make was a car park tile.

I foamex board, the sort that you find on shop signs, not the featherlite variety but Matt PVC version, a little bit more pricey than the lighter stuff but more durable.

I then scratched into the surface to create cracks and stuck on some patches and little piles of gravel, coated in super glue to show the deteriorated concrete.

I created a path of PVC & gravel/ballast and added card tiles to the edge.

Then I spray painted it and painted the details using washes and dry brushing.

Lastly I made a stencil and used a sponge to add the white lines. This could be done with masking tape if you wanted a neater, more freshly applied line.

  1. Wow! That looks great! Very inspiring – the oil stains on the car park and other random “dirtying up” really make it come alive.

Say something...
