History Live 2014

Went to English Heritage History Live at Kelmarsh Hall on Saturday… an amazing festival of living history. 2000 years of history reenacted. Highlights were the Spitfire Messerschmitt 109 dogfight, 95th Rifles storming an american fort and the Sealed knot recreating Marston Moor.

There were loads of events, activities and market stalls, lectures, a Victorian fair and a wargaming tent with Games of Hail Caesar and Black Powder.

Heavy rain in the morning didn’t stop a fantastic day out… far too much to see and do in one day… or even one weekend. I will be going again, and would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in history.

  3. That looks just amazing! You British are so lucky to have those kind of events close by.

    • If you ever make it across the puddle it would be worth fitting your visit in with this, it is really massive, largest event of it’s kind in Europe apparently.

  4. Great photos of what looks a splendid day!
